Let’s get to know…Lauren Ward
Next up to face the ‘Meet the Team’ questionnaire is our Creative Studio Manager Lauren.
Who or what is your main influence?
My main influence is anyone advocating for body positivity and good vibes. More recently I’ve stopped following any influencers who are out of my reach in terms of financials, body image or aspirations, and now I really like to follow down to earth and friendly people who make me feel better (not worse) about myself and my life.
Describe yourself in 3 words.
Organised. Intuitive. Creative.
What’s your favourite thing about your job?
My team – I really think it’s so important to feel supported and valued at work and I’ve never felt a better fit in my career! I also love that I’m getting to use my creativity, being able to work on designs for new branding clients, and learning lots of new illustration and graphic design tools along the way.
What’s your biggest pet-peeve?
People repeatedly calling me “Laura” in every email. I don’t mind the occasional typo, but please don’t.
If you could try any other profession, what would it be?
Cattery owner (crazy cat lady) – it would be super posh with little heated beds and tuna-water fountains.
If there was a book written about your life, what would the title be and why?
‘Why am I here?’ Because I have existential dread on the daily. What does it all mean?
If you could give your teenage self some advice, what would it be?
Don’t do that expensive Law degree you’ll be paying back for years – you don’t “need a ‘proper’ degree to get a ‘good’ job”, just follow your heart!
Where would you consider to be your happy place?
In the bath, preferably with a glass of rosé, Prosecco or flavoured gin (and maybe some chocolate). Or even better, a bath in Italy?
Do you have a hidden talent?
I can hum and whistle at the same time? I’m also an embroidery artist, but you’ll have to look me up on Instagram to hear more about that… *cough*
What book you’re reading? Music you’re listening to? TV you’re binging?
Book: The Storyteller: Tales of life and music (Dave Grohl’s autobiography).
Music: Still anything emo, pop-punk or nu-metal from 2004-2014, tbh.
TV: My attention span struggles to manage to watch anything all of the way through (oops), but I really enjoy anything crime, police drama or horror related.
What’s your guilty pleasure?
Craig David – I’m seeing him live in April and I CANNOT WAIT
Spirit animal?
Cat – loving, sassy and I like things on my own terms (haha).
