Q: What do you do with a large empty unit in one of the UK’s biggest shopping centres?
A:  Transform it into the UK’s first free interactive selfie experience!

The Post Room launched at Meadowhall in April 2019, as an innovative solution to the problem posed by a large, empty retail space. We think the copy explains it best:

‘Round up your friends, bring your phones and join us for this free, interactive attraction. Enter The Post Room and make your way through quirky rooms and fun backdrops, each one more Instagrammable than the last. Hop aboard the unicorn, pose in the ball pool and take a confetti shower. Stop and snap as many super-stylish selfies as you like at this fantastic attraction, and don’t forget to tag us when you post your pics.’

UP YOUR INSTA GAME

We had a blast developing the creative and messaging to support this fun project. We even got to design the eclectic range of selfie backdrops as well as developing the ad campaign.

The result?

The Post Room was a must-see visitor attraction, welcoming almost 50,000 super selfie snappers through the doors in the first month.

THE POST ROOM IS BACK

There were over 1700 #MHPostRoom mentions on social media, and Meadowhall gained an additional 1100 Instagram followers.

In fact, The Post Room was so successful, Meadowhall repeated it for summer, with new backdrops including a desert island, tennis and a Game of Thrones room.

The Christmas Post Room

Following on from the success of the first two, The Christmas Post Room was launched – with a new logo and festive backdrops. Santa’s grotto was even incorporated into this version.

Not many projects allow us to unleash our silly side and be our best #selfies, but this one definitely did!
